New Big-Budget Western Thriller Filmed at Yellowstone Film Ranch

An entrepreneur and president of Ponderosa Films, Carter Boehm has been luring filmmakers to Montana since the creation of his multi-million-dollar Wild West film studio, Yellowstone Film Ranch. Carter Boehm serves as an executive producer on the new big-budget Western thriller Murder at Emigrant Gulch, which was filmed at his ranch.

Murder at Emigrant Gulch tells the story of a former slave who comes to Emigrant Gulch, Montana, looking for a place to live, but is arrested and accused of murdering a local prospector that had just discovered gold. Set in 1882, the film explores the mystery behind the prospector’s murder and the town’s struggle between faith and the law. The film stars top Hollywood actors Gabriel Byrne, Thomas Jane, Isaiah Mustafa, and Oscar-winner Richard Dreyfuss, as well as recognizable names like Nat Wolff, Anna Camp, Aimee Garcia, and Zach McGowan. The film is directed by Australian director, writer, and film producer Richard Gray, who also directed Robert the Bruce at Yellowstone Film Ranch in 2019. A release date for Murder at Emigrant Gulch is yet to be announced.
