Carter Boehm has been in the film industry since the 1970s. As executive producer at Ponderosa Films, Carter Boehm has been involved with films such as the 2022 release Murder at Yellowstone City, a movie filmed at Yellowstone Film Ranch.

The Yellowstone Film Ranch is a movie is a replica of a town set during the Gold Rush era, circa the late 1800s. Mr. Boehm, Richard Gray, and Colin Davis own the western-styled set in the middle of the rolling foothills of the Absaroka Mountains and Emigrant Peak. The set comprises 28 unique structures, including a bank, a church, a tobacco shop, a livery stable, and a drug store, among other buildings.

Beyond being a place to make films, the Ranch contributes to Livingston’s local economy in terms of jobs. The ranch is responsible for drawing people to the local bars, restaurants, and bars.

Typically, crews work on the set between six and eight weeks, which provides the economy with a little boost. In addition, it hires much of its production crew and extras from the local community, as with the Murder at Yellowstone City.
